Militancy: Cops yet to identify foreign financiers

Law enforcers identified most of the local sources those had financed militant activities in the country, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia said today.

He said that the process to find out the foreign financiers is underway.

He came up with the remark while distributing warm clothes to the poor people at Azimpur Government Girls School in Dhaka.

“After the July 1 Gulshan café attack, we arrested some of the persons who gave shelters and patronised the militants,” he said.

Members of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of DMP are still investigating one or two incidents but yet to get any clue about the foreign sources who were behind militant activities of the country, he added.
