Dads in the Park to perform alongside Slipknot, Trivium

On Friday, popular indie band, Dads in the Park announced that they would be headed to Hammersonic Festival between March 18-19 in Indonesia. Considered to be one of the biggest rock and metal festivals in Asia, this year's Hammersonic Festival will be headlined by Slipknot, with the likes of Trivium, Amon Amarth, Saosin, Tiny Moving Parts, etc. also performing on the show.

In their announcement post, the band shared how they were excited at the prospect of playing such a large venue for the first time and also to have the opportunity of performing on the same stage as Slipknot, Trivium, Amon Amarth, etc.

Dads in the Park has been quite an interesting band to observe in the local music scene. They actively made the choice to write their songs in English, which has helped them grow an international audience alongside their domestic fans. In the last four years, they have released a total of six singles, all of which have received a good level of fanfare. But arguably, what is most interesting to see is just how passionate their fans are, which comes through whenever you see them performing live.

Speaking to Tajwar Ul Islam, one half of Dads in the Park, The Daily Star learned just how much this opportunity means to him. "When I first heard Slipknot on MTV in 2004, never once did I think that I would be making music for a living. So, to be presented with the opportunity to perform my own songs on the same show that Slipknot will be headlining, is an incredible moment and a gigantic opportunity. I cannot put into words how much this means."

Dads in the Park also wanted to give their thanks to Nadeem A Salam, the founder of Skesh Entertainment, who is the main man responsible for making all of this possible for them.

With the upcoming Hammersonic Festival, Dads in the Park have an incredible opportunity to showcase Bangladesh's musical talent to the world. Quite possibly, this might even pave the way for other Bangladeshi bands to go and perform in international festivals in the future.

As the band have to bear all the expenses for the festival, Dads in the Park are actively looking for brand deals, collaborations and sponsorship opportunities. They have also opened a crowdfunding campaign, where their fans can contribute to help fund their performance at Hammersonic Festival.
