French President Macron graces Joler Gaan studio, plays instrument

During a diplomatic visit to Bangladesh, French President Emmanuel Macron has recently engaged in a blend of cultural exchange, political dialogues and culinary exploration.

On Sunday, the French president Macron graced the private studio of Rahul Ananda, a musician, lyricist, and instrumentalist of the popular band Joler Gaan. At the studio, Macron played a musical instrument while Rahul accompanied him.

Earlier in his visit, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina hosted a grand gala dinner, in honour of the French President, at the Intercontinental Hotel in the capital.

A highlight of the evening was the presentation of a quintessential Bangladeshi dish, hilsa, prepared as smoked hilsa fish with piyaju and samosa. This culinary delight showcased Bangladesh's rich gastronomic heritage, offering a taste of the country's national fish to the esteemed guest.

The culinary journey didn't end there. Dessert aficionados were treated to a delightful selection, including the traditional patisapata pitha, sweet yogurt, rasgulla, and a medley of fresh fruits.

Later that evening, President Macron paid homage to the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, at the Bangabandhu Memorial Museum in the capital's Dhanmondi.

Additionally, Alliance Française de Dhaka organised a gathering between French President Macron and prominent Bangladeshi artistes, including Rahul Ananda, Ashfika Rahman, Kamruzzaman Shadhin, Afroja Hossain Sara, and Salma Jamal at Rahul Anand's residence during late hours of the same evening.

The event was graced by the Ambassador of the Embassy of France in Bangladesh Marie Masdupuy, and Alliance Française de Dhaka Director François Grosjean.
