Earlier this morning, a massive fire ripped through the capital's popular clothing market, Bangabazar Shopping Complex. The damage has been extensive, leaving only scraps to be salvaged. Having struck such a tragedy right before Eid-ul-Fitr, which has left wholesalers destitute, wondering what tomorrow will bring.

Amidst all this, social media has been abuzz with solidarity being expressed by citizens and celebrities alike. Noted actor Chanchal Chowdhury took to his social media, posting a photo of the blazing fire and writing, "Oh Bangabazar, place of opportunities and dreams, destroyed in the fire…".

Noted actress Shahnaz Khushi also followed suit, posting several pictures of the tragic incident and penning a mournful note about her disbelief.

Other artistes including Amitabh Reza Chowdhury, Masud Hasan Ujjal, Khijir Hayat Khan, Zayed Khan, Siam Ahmed, the band Shunno and more posted about the tragedy, reflecting on the incident and what can be done to help the affected.
