During a disaster, saving animals is also the state’s responsibility: Jaya Ahsan

Jaya Ahsan is simultaneously lighting up Dhaliwood and Tollywood with her acting chops, with successful movies on both sides of the border.

The star is voicing out for both people and animals who are the victims of the recent floods in Sylhet and Sunamganj.

In a Facebook post yesterday, she wrote, "According to the Disaster Management Act 2012, it is the state's responsibility to help animals, as well as people, during a natural disaster."

Jaya Ahsan is a known advocate for animal rights.

Jaya, who usually never opens up about negative comments by netizens, said in an interview to the Times of India: "I don't think much about bad comments anymore.  It has become a part of our lives."

Jaya Ahsan, who criticised people who hide behind their social media accounts to spread negativity, said, "I want to tell these people, if you have the courage, come face-to-face and say them to me. Why are you polluting social media?"
