‘Faraaz’ released in Indian theatres

After gaining clearance from the Delhi Court, Hansal Mehta's directorial film, "Faraaz" is ready to appear in about a hundred cinema halls across India, today. Based on the Holey Artisan terrorist attack in 2016, the film has been a topic of much controversy in Bangladesh.

Yesterday, the Delhi High court permitted the release of the film, despite the pleas of the victims' families.

Concerning the release of the film, the director shared to media, "Faraaz' is a story that needs to be experienced on the big screen. We want this film to reach its right audience and hence we decided to have a premium release in select screens."

"The way that people consume content has evolved a lot over the last few years, be it watching movies at homec, on OTT or going to the theatre to watch a film," he continued. "It's important for us as filmmakers and producers to adapt to how the audience behaviour has changed and hence we decided to release 'Faraaz' in select screens."

The film stars Zahan Kapoor, Aditya Rawal, Juhi Babbar, Aamir Ali, Sachin Lalwani, Pallak Lalwani, and Reshham Sahaani.
