Ferdous Ahmed and Ashna Habib Bhabna have recently wrapped up shooting "Dampara", the liberation war-based film that is being directed by Shuddhoman Chaitnya. Initially, shooting for the film had started in December 2021.

This will be the third silver screen project for Bhabna, and her first collaboration with Ferdous. Previously, she had received rave reviews for her part in Nurul Alam Atique's "Lal Moroger Jhuti".

Based on real events, "Dampara" tells the story of the heroic role of Shamsul Haque, a police superintendent, and his officers at Dampara Police Lines in Chattogram during the Liberation War period.

The story and screenplay of the film are written by Anan Zaman, and being produced by Chattogram Metropolitan Police.

Ferdous will be playing the role of Shamsul Haque, alongside Bhabna, who will be playing the role of his wife, Mahmuda Haque.

Previously the actor had been quoted saying this about his upcoming role in "Dampara".

"This is the first time that I will be working in a movie based on true events. It is such a great honour to play the role of a valiant man who sacrificed his life in our Liberation War," said Ferdous.

Alongside Ferdous and Bhabna, the film will also star Shatabdi Wadud, Jhuna Chowdhury, Ananta Hira, Maznun Mizan and Muntaha, among others.

"Dampara" is expected to be released sometime later this year.
