Juboraj Shamim’s ‘Adim’ to screen in Kurigram 

Initially released in only four theaters on May 26, "Adim" garnered unexpected success, selling tickets worth BDT 1 lac and prompting a demand for wider screenings.

However, due to commercial reasons, mainstream cineplexes were unable to continue showing the film. Undeterred, young filmmaker Juboraj Shamim decided to take an alternative path to ensure that audiences from different districts could experience the movie.

The cinematographer of "Adim," Aamir Hamza, hailing from Nageshwari in Kurigram, faced the challenge of lacking a cinema hall in his hometown. Determined to overcome this obstacle, Hamza collaborated with local supporters to organise screenings of the film, "Adim"  in Kurigram itself. This initiative aims to bring the film closer to audiences who have been eagerly anticipating its release.

Shamim expressed his vision for the future, saying, "Next Eid, our journey will start from Kurigram by alternative means. The movie will run for three days in Kurigram, and we aspire to release it in Chittagong, Sylhet, Rajshahi, and Dhaka once again."

"Adim" delves into the lives of slum dwellers, depicting their relentless struggles for survival and dignity amidst poverty and deprivation. The film was exclusively shot in a slum located in Tongi and features a cast primarily comprised of non-professional actors. Its powerful narrative has already garnered international recognition, earning the prestigious Best Feature Film award at the Moscow Indie Film Festival.

The movie showcases stellar performances by talented actors such as Badsha, Sohagi Khatun, Dulal Mia, Sadek, and others in various roles.
