‘Padatik’ will begin its shooting this month

Renowned filmmaker Srijit Mukherji is directing the biopic of the eminent Indian filmmaker Mrinal Sen. National Film Award winning actor Chanchal Chowdhury is going to play Mrinal Sen in this project.

The "Hawa" actor informed The Daily Star, the shooting for the film is going to begin from this month. "All my thoughts are now about Mrinal Sen, and nothing else," shares the actor. Chanchal shared that he has been thoroughly taking preparations for the role.

According to the actor, the shooting of "Padatik" was supposed to begin from the first week of January. However, the schedule was postponed due to his father's passing.

The first look of Chanchal has already been revealed and stirred the social media, earning praise from renowned celebrities.

Chanchal recreated Mrinal Sen extremely well, and on that note, he added, "The job of an artiste is to blend with the role perfectly, we tried to make the look as close as possible. The credit for this makeover goes to Somnath Kundu." Elated Chanchal expressed that portraying such an eminent filmmaker is definitely a huge deal for him. Popular actress Monami Ghosh will be seen as Mrinal's wife in the film.

Three days ago, legendary Indian actor Amitabh Bachchan shared the poster of "Padatik", and gave his blessings to Srijit and Chanchal.
