Zayed Khan shows solidarity with Hollywood strike during US visit

Dhallywood actor Zayed Khan recently returned to Dhaka after spending over a month in the United States.

Initially, he travelled to participate in the prestigious Dhallywood Film and Awards event, but his journey took an unexpected turn when he arrived in Los Angeles amidst the strike of Hollywood writers and actors.

Showing his support for the movement, Zayed Khan stood in solidarity with the artistes and crews demanding fair treatment and recognition.

Speaking to local edia upon his return to Dhaka on Sunday, Zayed Khan recounted his experience in Los Angeles. "I was in Los Angeles when the movement was at its peak. Hollywood stars were protesting on the streets, and I felt compelled to join them in their cause," he shared.

"Artistes are artistes everywhere, and I believe in standing united with fellow artistes who are fighting for their rights," he added.

During his stay in the United States, Zayed Khan was also honoured with the 'The Humanitarian Platinum Leadership Award' for his contributions towards harmony, peace, and sustainable development in his respective field. This year 40 people from around the world have been given this award.

Regarding the award, Zayed Khan expressed his gratitude and humility. "I believe that awards cannot be bought with money, and I have no interest in pursuing such endeavours. My focus lies in contributing positively to society without any political motives," he asserted. "Criticism is inevitable, but those who criticise might not truly understand the impact of one's achievements. I've earned this honour through my dedication, and I am proud of it."

Zayed Khan also emphasised the importance of supporting and encouraging each other. "As Bengalis, we should celebrate the accomplishments of our fellow citizens. Let us unite and promote a culture of appreciation and encouragement," he urged.
