Zoya Akhtar's long-awaited film ‘The Archies’ gets release date

Director Zoya Akhtar's eagerly awaited film, "The Archies," has now been given a release date. This live-action musical features a star-studded cast including Suhana Khan, Agastya Nanda, Khushi Kapoor, Vedang Raina, Yuvraj Menda, Mihir Ahuja, and Aditi Dot in lead roles.

Drawing inspiration from the popular American comics of the same name, the movie is set to premiere on Netflix on December 7. 

 "The Archies" cast unveiled the release date using a live billboard situated on Mumbai's Western Express Highway.

 The billboard incorporates a countdown timer, tracking the days remaining until the film's highly anticipated launch.

The announcement was accompanied by lively videos shared on Instagram by all the cast members.

 In the promo videos, Suhana donned a grey cropped top and denim jeans, while Khushi opted for a grey sweatshirt and trousers. 

Moreover, Agastya Nanda sported a white T-shirt, blue jacket, and denims. Vedang was seen in a grey ensemble, while Mihir and Yuvraj sported white casual attire. Aditi chose a red and black outfit.

In "The Archies," Suhana Khan will portray Veronica Lodge, Agastya Nanda will embody Archie Andrews, and Khushi Kapoor will take on the role of Betty Cooper. Vedang Raina will be seen as Reggie Mantle, Yuvraj Menda as Dilton Doiley, Mihir Ahuja as Jughead Jones, and Aditi Dot as Ethel Muggs.

Set in the 1960s, the film delves into themes of friendship, freedom, love, heartbreak, and rebellion through the captivating lives of characters like Archie, Betty, Veronica, Jughead, Reggie, Ethel, and Dilton. It transports viewers to the fictional town of Riverdale, where their stories unfold.

"The Archies" is a collaborative effort between Netflix India, Tiger Baby (Zoya and Reema's production house), Archie Comics, and Graphic India.
