Sylhet flood: Bodies of missing mother, son found after 4 days

Hearing that flood submerged her daughter's house, Nazmun Nesa and her son Abdur Rahman went to visit the former. But on the way back home, the mother and son were washed away by the strong current of floodwater on Friday (June 17, 2022).

Four days after the incident, police recovered the bodies of Nazmun Nesa and Abdur Rahman, of Mahalikhala village in Sylhet's Jaintapur upazila, and sent them to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital for autopsy.

Jaintapur upazila chairman Kamal Ahmad confirmed the body recovery, reports our Sylhet correspondent.

With them, the flood-related deaths in Sylhet, Sunamganj and Moulvibazar districts stood at 22 so far, Director of Sylhet Divisional Health Office Dr Himangshu Lal Roy said.

But the number may increase, the official said.
