Dhaka may witness light rain in afternoon

Bangladesh Meteorological Department has forecast light rain in Dhaka this afternoon (September 21, 2022). 

"Light to moderate rain is likely to occur in the southern part of the country, especially in the coastal areas of Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram.  The country's northern part will experience less rain," Meteorologist Tariqul Newaz Kabir of the met office told The Daily Star this morning.

"The depression formed in the Bay has now moved downwards in West Bengal and Bihar, India.  But its impact is still there.  Under the influence of the depression, there may be winds, gusty winds and rain in the coastal areas of the country," he added.

Maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to keep hoisted local cautionary signal No. 3, he added.
