2 Covid-19 deaths, 253 cases recorded in 24 hours

Two people died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8am today, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country is currently 29,302 and the death rate stands at 1.46 percent.

At least 253 new coronavirus cases were recorded during this period.

The daily positivity rate is 5.06 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 13.71 percent.

With the new infections, the total number of cases rose to 20,06,899, the release added.

A total of 5,002 samples were tested across the country during this period.

At least 933 Covid-19 patients have recovered within this time. The total number of recoveries now stands at 19,46,762 and the recovery rate at 97 percent, said the release.

The two deceased were men and aged between 41-70 years old, added the release.
