A 32-year-old Turkish citizen was sent to the Infectious Diseases Hospital in Mohakhali area this noon as health officials identified monkeypox symptoms on him during passenger screening at Dhaka airport.

The man landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka via a Turkish Airlines flight at around 2:00pm today, health official said.

"The passenger had rash on his body. He did not produce any document whether this was any skin disease. So, we have sent him to the hospital for further investigation," Dr Shahriar Sajjat, health officer at Dhaka airport, told The Daily Star.
