100,400 litres of edible oil seized in Pabna

A mobile court in Pabna yesterday (May 11, 2022) seized 104,000 litres of soyabean oil from different grocery shops in the district.

The court fined Tk 5.7 lakh to the shop owners for stockpiling and selling the oil at a hiked price, reports our local correspondent quoting Ataur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Detective Branch of Police of the district.

The court conducted the day-long drive in different areas including Bara Bazar and Kashinathpur Bazar of Pabna and seized the soyabean oil and imposed the fines, he said.

The court also instructed shutting down four shops for selling soyabean oil in loose after opening intact bottles, he added.
