Tanvir Shahriar Rimon is currently serving as the CEO of Ranks FC Properties Ltd. He procured, marketed, supervised, built & handed over more than a thousand homes to the City Dwellers in Chittagong. He brought numerous innovative efforts to uphold the Real Estate Industry. Under his inspirational leadership, Ranks FC became a top-notch real estate brand in less than 5 years. Apart from professional work, he is involved in various social activities.

Rimon was born into a family full of love, affection, and bonding. His father was a government official and his mother was a homemaker. Tanvir Shahriar considers his mother his mentor. He was involved in many co-curricular activities and sports from his childhood; participated in inter-school debate competitions, impromptu speech competitions, and many more. This helped him in a major way in his later life.

Rimon told us about starting his career —

"Building a career was not planned, I started early when I was a seventh-semester student. While studying computer engineering, I realised that I had made a mistake. I should have studied BBA instead of CSE. But I did not dare to tell my parents that I wanted to study BBA because they were dreaming that I would become an engineer.

I was confused, how can I fix it? I later thought of going for higher education in the UK and completed all the formalities. But one fine morning, I felt like coming out of the mission and I decided to stay here in Bangladesh. It was very challenging though.

I was in my final year of CSE. Met Dr Abu Yusuf Mohammad Abdullah, Professor of IBA and Chairman of Prasad Group of Companies. He allowed me to work as a management trainee in his company. Worked there for about a year and realised that I should pursue a real estate career as I started liking the design aspects of real estate.

This was in 2003. Later in 2004 and 2005, I tried my luck in multinational banks. I was under massive pressure from my parents to change careers. I got the offer and met my parents, telling them I wanted to continue in real estate.

They thought I was crazy. Many of my close friends did not like my idea either. But I was confident.

When I joined Habib Group in 2006 at the age of 25 years and 10 months as the head of operations in their real estate company, people started to realise that maybe my plan to venture into the real estate industry was going right.

During this time, I achieved materialistic success (car, a six-figure salary, etc.). People started noticing me in early 2008 when I was promoted to Chief Operating Officer (COO) at the age of 27."

Tanvir is an inspiration for young entrepreneurs in Bangladesh, as he is an example of talent, professionalism, dedication and hard work. His down-to-earth attitude is arguably his most attractive feature and he exudes a positive vibe even when you are just chatting with him.

Although it sounds like a cliché, Tanvir strongly believes there is no shortcut to success. According to him, one must have a thirst for knowledge and learn to adapt to changing situations. He loves taking on challenges.

About future plans, he said, "I plan to contribute more towards creating sustainable green cities in Bangladesh. Also, I want to work for less privileged people on a larger scale to make a meaningful difference in their lives."
