Wasfia Nazreen set at K2 Basecamp, first rotation on Broadpeak accomplished

Wasfia Nazreen just completed her first rotation on Broadpeak with her expedition a day ago. With a sense of initial accomplishment, Wasfia and her team are currently stationed at the K2 basecamp, camp 1.

For those who do not know, the basecamp of K2 is for climbers who attempt to climb the notorious mountain, the second-highest mountain in the world. K2 is located in the northwestern Karakoram Range in Pakistan, partly in the Kashmir region at an altitude of 5,117m or 16,785 ft.

With her periodic Instagram posts, Wasfia has kept her followers and well-wishers updated on her arduous goal. Accompanying Wasfia are some of the best and strongest mountaineers in the world: Mingma Tenzi Sherpa, Mingma David Sherpa, and Nirmal Purja.
