Tourism ban on 2 Bandarban upazilas extended till Nov 20

The authorities today extended the ban on tourists in Ruma and Rowangchhari upazilas of Bandarban to November 20 lifting it from Thanchi upazila.

A public notice signed by Bandarban Deputy Commissioner Yasmin Parvin Tibrizi was issued today (November 16, 2022), reports our Bandarban correspondent.

The decision was taken upon receiving an application from Bandarban Cantonment, said the notice.

The ban on tourists was first enforced on Rowangchhari and Ruma on October 18 as part of high security measures. The Thanchi and Alikadam upazilas were added five days later.

On November 8, the authorities lift the ban from Alikadam upazila.
