Jhenidah Jamaat chief held

Police claimed arrest of a Jamaat-e-Islami leader from Satkhira and recovery of crude bombs and explosives in Jhenidah town early today.

Nur Mohammad, chief of Jhenidah district Jamaat unit, was arrested during a raid in Satkhira town, our Jhenidah correspondent reports quoting Hasan Hafizur Rahman, officer-in-charge (OC) of Jhenidah Sadar Police Station.

According to Nur’s information, police later conducted a drive at Pre-Cadet School compound at Disharipara in Jhenidah and recovered 15 crude bombs and 46 kilogrammes of explosives, said OC Hafizur.

A case was filed against Nur, a former chairman of Sadar upazila in Jhenidah, with Jhenidah Sadar Police Station in this connection.
