1 dead, 2 injured in accident on Bangabandhu Bridge

A pickup truck driver was dead in an accident on Bangabandhu Bridge early today (July 2, 2022).

The deceased was identified as Rasel Ahmed, son of Aziz Ahmed of Dhanbari upazila in Tangail. Two others were also injured, reports our Tangail correspondent quoting police.

Sub-Inspector of Bangabandhu Bridge (East) Police Station, Sarkar Iftekharul Mokammel, said that a Dhaka-bound pickup truck, carrying chicken, broke down near pillar no. 40 on the bridge. At that time, another pickup hit the stalled vehicle from behind, leaving the latter's driver dead on the spot. Two more people were injured.

"The injured were sent to Tangail General Hospital. Both trucks and the body of deceased were brought to the police station," the SI said,
