1 killed as bus hits microbus in Padma Bridge area

A man was killed after a passenger bus hit a microbus near the toll plaza at Zajira point in the Padma Bridge area today (July 2, 2022).

The deceased was identified as Abdul Haque Mollah (60) of Kishoreganj district. He went to visit the Padma Bridge boarded on the microbus.

Fifteen other microbus passengers were also injured in the accident.

Police said the accident occurred around 2:45pm as the microbus overturned on Dhaka-Mawa-Bhanga Expressway near Zajira end. Abdul Haque Mollah died on the spot.

The injured people were admitted to Shibchar Upazila Health Complex and Nowdoba Health Centre.

Md Sujon, officer-in-charge of Padma Bridge (South) Police Station confirmed the development. He said police seized the bus and the microbus.
