2 pedestrians killed as truck runs them over in Dinajpur

Two pedestrians were killed and one was injured after a truck ran them over in Dinajpur early today.

The deceased were identified as Md Ali (65) and Azgar Ali (35), reports our local correspondent quoting Tanvirul Islam, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station.

The injured—Mokbul Ali (40) was fighting for his life at the hospital, the OC said.

The victims were walking in front of Dinajpur Medical College Hospital around 4:30am when the truck lost control and crashed them. Md Ali and Azgar Ali died on the spot.

Police have recovered the vehicle. However, the driver and his helper managed to flee, the police official added.
