6 killed, 11 hurt in Bandarban road accident

Six people were killed and 11 suffered injuries when a minitruck hit another and both the vehicles fell into a ditch in the hilly area of Bandarban's Ruma upazila today.

Ruma Sadar Union Parishad Chairman Shai Bang Marma confirmed the incident and said the injured were taken to Bandarban Sadar Hospital.

The identities of the deceased, who include three women and a driver, could not be known immediately.

The incident happened around 1:30pm on the risky sloping road of Boga Lake area, said Ruma Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md Alamgir Hossain.

Jira Bom, chairman of Remakri Prangsa union, told our local correspondent that four of the deceased were residents of ward-3 of the union.
