Bus, microbus collision leaves 5 dead in Barishal

A head-on collision between a bus and a microbus on the Dhaka-Barishal highway left five people dead and 12 others injured today (July 21, 2022).

Four of the deceased were identified as Md Hasan, Ruhul Amin, Nurul Islam, Abdur Rahman, and one more person died in the hospital, said Wazirpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge Momin Uddin, reports our local correspondent.

Abul Kalam of Barishal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital said three seriously injured people have been admitted to the hospital and among them one Shahidul Islam died.

According to eyewitnesses, the accident happened as the microbus collided with the Gami Mollah Paribahan bus after one of its tyres suddenly burst, leaving four dead on the spot.
