JU fresher in life support being hit by motorcycle

A Jahangirnagar University student has been admitted to the intensive care unit of a hospital after being hit by a motorcycle at the university campus last night.

Zahid Hasan, of Bogura, a fresher from Batch 51 of the Department of Journalism and Media Studies, was hit by a motorcycle around 8:30pm on Thursday near Mowlana Bhasani Hall, reports our JU correspondent.

Eight of his friends witnessed the incident.

One of them talking to The Daily Star said while crossing the road, he was hit by a speeding bike in a campus road.

"We immediately took him to the university's infirmary and they referred him to Enam Medical College Hospital. He is in life support," he added.

Proctor ASM Firoz Ul Hasan said, "I am going to see the student now. It's a big challenge to keep bikers in check. Students need to more careful while riding motorcycles."
