Man killed, another injured in Brahmanbaria road crash

A man was killed and another injured in a road crash in Sultanpur area of Brahmanbaria Sadar this morning.

The dead is Payel Sardar, 28, of Kharera union in the district's Kasba upazila. His nephew Shiblu Sardar, 22, was injured in the accident, said police.

The duo was on a motorcycle that was rammed by a speeding covered van on Cumilla-Sylhet highway around 10:15am, said Rafiqul Islam, assistant sub-inspector of Brahmanbaria district police (traffic division).

Payel is an expatriate in Kuwait. He returned home two-and-a-half months ago and got married. He was heading towards his home from his in-law's place, said locals.

Shiblu was admitted to Brahmanbaria General Hospital, the police officer said, adding that the body of Payel was sent to the hospital for autopsy.
