Two days after a deadly explosion in a building at Dhaka's Moghbazar area, another body was recovered from the debris today -- raising the death toll to eight.

The deceased -- Harun-or-Rashid (above 60) -- was the security guard of the three-storey building.

Shazzadur Rahman, deputy commissioner of Ramna Division police, confirmed the development to The Daily Star.

Debashis Bardhan, deputy director (operations and maintenance) of Fire Service and Civil Defence, said Harun was missing since the explosion on Sunday evening. Fire fighters found the body around 3:30pm while inspecting the debris on the ground floor.

"We will hand over the body to police for the next course of action," he said.

Accumulated gas was behind the massive explosion on the ground floor of the building, officials and experts said after primary investigation.

At least six people were killed after the incident on Sunday while another succumbed to his injuries yesterday morning.
