Youth dies after van hits his bike in Pabna

A motorcyclist was killed and his pillion rider was injured after a covered van hit the motorbike on Pabna-Rajshahi highway in Pabna tonight.

The deceased, Md Rupom, aged around 20, son of Abdul Baten of Shahapara village under Pabna's Sadar upazila, was a video content producer, our Pabna correspondent reported, quoting police.

Ashish Kumar Sannal, officer-in-charge of Pakshey Highway Police Station, said a Dashuria-bound covered van hit the motorcycle from opposite direction in Mozidpur area around 8:00pm, leaving Rupom dead on the spot.

The injured was taken to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital, the OC said.
