2 men to die for raping minor

A Habiganj court has awarded two men with death penalty for raping a minor in the district's Madhabpur upazila in 2019.

Judge SM Nasim Reza, of Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal-3, handed down the verdict Thursday afternoon.

The condemned convicts are Shahid Mia, 45, and Mostafa Mia, 35, both residents of Madhabpur upazila.

The court also fined them Tk 1 lakh each.

The verdict was announced in presence of the accused, said Public Prosecutor Sirajul Haque Chowdhury.
