20-year-old man hacked to death

A young man was hacked to death by unidentified assailantsyesterday in Keshabpur, Jashore.

Chanchal Das, 20, a resident of Majidpur area, was a barber at a local salon.

Quoting locals, police said villagers found Chanchal with severe stab-injuries yesterday morning at a banana orchard in the village.

He appeared to have died while the locals were taking him to a hospital, said Borhanuddin, officer-in-charge of Keshabpur Police Station.

Police sent the body to Jashore General Hospital for autopsy, he said, adding that five locals were detained for interrogation.
