3 members of auto-rickshaw snatching gang held from Ashulia, Dhamrai: Rab

Members of the Rapid Action Battalion have detained three persons, including the mastermind of an auto-rickshaw snatcher's gang from Dhaka's Ashulia and Dhamrai.

Rab-4 company commander Lt Commander Rakib Mahmud Khan confirmed the development to our Savar correspondent this afternoon (August 13, 2022).

Acting on a tip-off that a man named Arif Hossain (30) was detained by the locals while mugging an auto-rickshaw in Aingon area of Dhamrai yesterday evening, a team of Rab-4 rushed to the spot and took the snatcher into custody, said the Rab official.

Later, based on information Arif provided, the Rab team conducted a drive in Jirabo area of Ashulia early today and detained the mastermind Raju (30), and his associate Md Badu (36) and recovered two auto-rickshaws from the spot.

During the primary interrogation, they confessed to their crime, added the Rab official.

The process to file cases against them in this connection is underway, said Lt Commander Rakib.
