Arrest warrant issued against Jubo Dal's Tuku, 24 others

A Dhaka court today issued arrest warrants against 25 leaders and activists of BNP and its front organisation, including Jubo Dal President Sultan Salauddin Tuku, in a case filed against them for assaulting policemen and preventing them from discharging their duties on February 13 last year.

Former Jubo Dal President Saiful Alam Nirob and BNP's central committee executive member Nipun Roy Chowdhury are among those accused in the case filed with Ramna Police Station.

Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Muhammad Asaduzzaman Nur passed the order after rejecting the petitions submitted by defence.

Earlier the magistrate cancelled their bail secured from different courts, said Nizam Uddin Fakir, General Recording Officer at the CMM Court.

The magistrate, however, allowed the petition submitted on behalf of BNP's Joint Secretary General Habib-Un-Nabi Khan Sohel considering his illness.
