Constable burnt to death in Habiganj, probe body formed

A three-member committee was formed to probe the death of a constable who died after a fire broke out in his room while he was asleep in Habiganj this morning.

Palash Ranjan Dey, additional superintendent of police of Baniachong circle, has been made the head of the committee, Superintendent of Police of Habiganj SM Murad Ali told our Moulvibazar correspondent.

"An inquiry committee has been formed to ascertain the exact cause of death," said the SP.

The deceased, Rubel Ahmed, 32, was working as a constable in the district traffic police. He is from Nijpat village of Jaintapur in Sylhet.

The body of the deceased has been sent to the Sadar Modern Hospital morgue, the SP added.

Three others were also injured in the incident.
