CU expels 2 students over sexual assault of female student

The authorities of Chittagong University have permanently expelled two of its students for their involvement in the sexual assault of a student of Chittagong University on July 17.

The decision was taken at the meeting of the university's Board of Health, Residence and Disciplinary Committee, reports our Chattogram staff correspondent quoting CU Assistant Proctor Shahidul Islam.

They were expelled as the "perpetrators had committed an unforgivable act", he said.

A written application will be submitted to the Vice-Chancellor of the National University to take action against the remaining two accused who are students of Hathazari College, he informed.

"Expel" has also been recommended if any of the remaining fugitives are university students, he said, adding that all the six accused were declared persona non grata on the CU campus.
