Family members of Amatullah Bushra said she is completely innocent and falsely implicated in Buet student Fardin Noor Parash murder case.

"Fardin dropped Bushra in a rickshaw in Rampura TV Centre area from where her mess is a 10-minute walk. She went straight to the mess and did not go outside," her uncle Mazharul Azam told The Daily Star.

She was falsely trapped in a case, he claimed.

Mazharul further claimed that CCTV footage near her hostel shows that she was walking towards her mess alone on November 4.

Police officials said they were investigating the case with due importance.

"In CCTV footage, we saw him [Fardin] on the way to Bushra's mess in Banasree that day, but we are yet to find any footage of him leaving the area. We are trying to collect footage of nearby areas," said an official involved in the investigation of the murder case filed with Rampura Police Station early today (November 10, 2022).

This was one of the main reasons why Fardin's father made Bushra accused in the case filed earlier today, said the police official.

Meanwhile, the case was transferred to the Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police this afternoon, Rafiqul Islam, officer-in-charge of Rampura Police Station, told The Daily Star.

Rampura Police arrested Bushra from Banasree in the early hours today and a Dhaka court granted a five-day remand to interrogate her.

Fardin, a third-year student of the Civil Engineering department of Buet, was found dead in the Shitalakkhya river in Banani Ghat area under Siddhirganj Police Station around 4:30 pm on November 7.

Earlier, Bushra had told police that Fardin dropped her off near her mess and left the area on the day he went missing.
