HSC examinee stabbed to death in Dhaka, 2 others injured

An HSC examinee died tonight hours after he was stabbed in the capital's Merul Badda.

Two of his friends also suffered injuries when they tried to help him.

The deceased was identified as Ashfaqur Rahman Chowdhury Satil, 18, an HSC examinee from Bangladesh Navy College.

The injured have been identified as Shoayeb Hossain, and Rupom Datta, both 18 years old. Both are students of Tejgaon Polytechnic Institute and are undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

Inspector Bachchu Mia, in-charge of DMCH Police Outpost, said there is a stab wound on the deceased's left leg and Shoayeb suffered stab wounds to his chest and other parts of his body.

The incident took place around 7:00pm at Road 13 of Merul Badda.

"We rushed there after hearing screams and found the three lying in a pool of blood beside the road. We took them to a nearby hospital. They were then shifted to DMCH where doctors declared Satil dead around 9:30pm," Sayem Sikder, a local who took them to the hospital, told reporters at DMCH.

The body was sent to the hospital morgue for autopsy.
