Prothom Alo reporter held as a case filed: home minister

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan said Samsuzzaman Shams, a reporter of Bangla daily Prothom Alo, was detained as a case was filed against him over a report published on the country's Independence Day.

"If anyone is aggrieved and seeks justice or files a case, police have to take action. I know a case was filed," he said replying to query at his Secretariat office this afternoon.

The home boss could not give details about the case or who filed it, but said Shams's report was false, fabricated and ill-motivated.
