Consultants hired for 1st underground metro rail

The metro rail authorities today (October 23, 2022) hired consultants for the country's first underground metro rail.

Dhaka Mass Transit Company Ltd (DMTCL) signed a contract with a joint venture firm led by Nippon Koei Company Ltd (Japan) as construction supervision consultants.

The firm will get Tk 1,517.24 crore for the services.

Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader was present as the chief guest at the contract signing ceremony at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre.

Civil works of Tk 52,561.43 crore project is expected to begin in December this year.
