PM to inaugurate Padma Bridge on June 25

The long-cherished Padma Bridge will open to traffic on June 25, Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said today.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the bridge at 10am on June 25, the minister said.

He disclosed the date after meeting with the Prime Minister at Gono Bhaban today.

Quader said Sheikh Hasina, however, rejected the proposal to name the bridge after her.

Asked whether BNP will be invited at the inaugural ceremony, the minister said they will invite all.
