All corruption of last 10 years will be exposed: Cumilla Mayor elect Rifat

Arfanul Haque Rifat, the newly elected mayor of Cumilla City Corporation, has stated that he will publish a white paper on all corruption committed in the city during the last ten years.

He came up with the immediate reaction while talking to reporters after Returning Officer Shahedunnabi Chowdhury announced the election result.

Rifat said he will try to implement his commitments given to the Cumilla city dwellers, even if he has to give his life for it.

Awami League-backed candidate Rifat has won the mayoral race as the results of the vote count in the Cumilla City Corporation election were revealed just moments back.

According to the voting results of 105 centres, Rifat under the symbol "boat", secured 50,310 votes, and won against independent candidate Monirul Haque Sakku, who secured 49,967 votes under the "table clock" symbol.
