Faridpur-2 by-elections tomorrow

The by-election to the Faridpur-2 constituency will be will be held tomorrow (November 5, 2022).

The voting will start with the use of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) in 123 polling centres at 8:00am and continue till 4:00pm without any recess, reports our Faridpur correspondent.

According to Faridpur election office, there are total 3,18,479 voters in the constituency.

The Faridpur-2 constituency, comprising Nagarkanda and Salthaupazilas and Krishnapur union under Sadarpur upazila, had fallen vacant with the death of MP Sajeda Chowdhury who died on September 11.

Two candidates are contesting in this by polls. They are Awami League nominated candidate Late Sajeda Chowdhury's son Shahdab Akbar Chowdhury alias Labu and Bangladesh Khelafat Andolan candidate Zainul Abedin alias Bakul Miah.

Talking to the correspondent, voters said that they think there is little chance of contesting the election as there is no strong candidate against Awami League candidate Shahdab Akbar Chowdhury. Since the issue is new, some voters are interested in it.
