Agriculture Minister Abdur Razzak today said the next parliamentary election scheduled to be held in early 2024 will be peaceful and inclusive.

The minister said this while addressing the closing ceremony of Caritas Bangladesh's golden jubilee celebration at Notre Dame College ground in Dhaka around 11:30am.

"We ensure that it will be a free, fair election. All people and political parties will take part in it," the minister added.

Some major political parties in the country are threatening to agitate, he said adding that the current government is an elected government.

"Our basic responsibility is to maintain peace in the country," he said.

"Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was assassinated on August 15, 1975. After that the evil and unconstitutional force and dictators ran the country. They tried to abolish the spirit of the Liberation War. They tried to run the country as Pakistan. We are fighting against them," the agricultural minister said.

"The present government hates those who spread violence against minority in the name of religion. We all have to beware against fanatics," Abdur Razzak added.
