Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today (August 22, 2022) asked government officials to serve people to the best of their abilities.

"You have to be servants of the people. Serving people is the biggest responsibility. All of you have to work as per that direction," she said.

The prime minister said this while addressing a programme to give away course certificates and marking completion of the 73rd foundation training course at Bangladesh Public Administration Training Center (BOATC) in Savar.

She joined the programme virtually from her official residence Gono Bhaban. She said that it is the responsibility of all to ensure the welfare of the people of this country.

"This is our country. It is our responsibility to ensure the welfare of the masses. This has to be kept in mind all the time," she said.

She asked the newly appointed government officials to devote themselves to the welfare of the people and development of the country.

"If the people at the grassroots level are fine, economic development of the country is inevitable," she said.

State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain, Public Administration senior secretary KM Ali Azam and BPATC rector Ramendra Nath Biswas also spoke at the event. Al Mahmud Hasan and Farzana Yasmin spoke on behalf of the trainees.

An audio visual was screened at the programme.
