AC land transferred for "beating up employees with shoes" in Tangail

Amit Dutta, assistant commissioner (Land) in Bhuapur upazila of Tangail, was transferred yesterday (September 28, 2022) on charge of beating up two office employees with shoes.

He has been transferred to the APD Sub Division of Ministry of Public Administration, according to a circular issued by the ministry signed by its Deputy Secretary Abul Fateh Mohammad Sofiqul Islam, reports our Tangail correspondent.

Dr Ataul Gani, Tangail deputy commissioner told The Daily Star that after being informed of the incident, the two employees -- Computer Operator Khairul Islam and Certificate Assistant Mominul Islam were attached to his office and he also reported the matter to the Ministry of Public Administration.

Later, through the circular the AC (Land) was attached to the ministry, he said.
