A Dhaka court yesterday again asked the Detective Branch of police to submit the probe report in a case filed over the death of Buet student Fardin Noor Parash by February 14.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Shanto Islam Mallik passed the order after Investigation Officer Md Mojibur Rahman, also a DB inspector, failed to submit any probe report yesterday, said court sources.

During the hearing, Fardin's friend Amatullah Bushra, who was arrested in connection with the case, was present at the court.

On January 8, Bushra, a first-year student of a private university, was granted ad-interim bail two months after she was arrested from the capital's Banasree area.

Fardin, a third-year student of the civil engineering department at Buet, was found dead in the Shitalakhkhya river in Narayanganj on November 7, three days after he went missing.

His father Kazi Nooruddin Rana filed a murder case with Rampura Police Station against Bushra on November 10 last year.

After over a month of investigation, the DB and Rab on December 11 last year said Fardin died by suicide after jumping off a bridge into the Shitalakkhya river.

A day later, DB chief Mohammad Harun Or Rashid said they did not find Bushra's involvement in the incident and would let the court know about this matter.
