New channel Green TV launched

A new television channel called Green TV was launched yesterday.

Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury, Information Minister Muhammad Hasan Mahmud, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan, former IGP Dr Benazir Ahmed and Alhaj Rafiqul Islam, chairman of Rangdhanu group, the conglomerate which owned the TV channel were present at the ceremony held at the International Convention City Bashundhara.

Information minister Muhammad Hasan Mahmud inaugurated the logo of the TV channel.

Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury was the chief guest of the event.

She said, "I believe Green TV will play a vital role in propagating the correct history of the Liberation War to our youth.

"We must not broadcast false news which can permanently tarnish the credibility of the mass media. This TV channel should put special emphasis on broadcasting pollution related news, documentaries to live up its name," she added.
