Ministry to propose naming Padma Bridge after PM Hasina again: Quader

The long cherished Padma Bridge will be opened to public next month, Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said today.

"We are sending summary to the Prime Minister and the date would be fixed as per her wish," Obaidul Quader said after the board meeting of Bangladesh Bridge Authority at Setu Bhaban in Dhaka.

"As the minister, I'm saying the bridge will be be opened next month," he said.

The minister however ruled out that the bridge would be opened on June 23, the founding anniversary of ruling Awami League.
