RU remembers Hasan Azizul Huq

Rajshahi University observed the first death anniversary of renowned fiction writer Hasan Azizul Huq on the campus yesterday. 

Teachers, students, and literary and cultural organisations placed wreaths at Huq's grave in front of the university's central library.

VC Prof Golam Sabbir Sattar chaired a discussion held at Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Senate Bhaban.

Senior teachers and veterans spoke on the occasion.

Rajshahi City Corporation Mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton paid homage at Huq's grave.

Hasan Azizul Huq retired in 2004 after teaching philosophy at Rajshahi University for three decades.

Besides teaching, he wrote stories and novels.

In 1970, he received Bangla Academy Literary Award. In 1999, the government gave him Ekushey Padak.

He received Independence Award in 2019.

He died on November 15, 2021.
