Kolkata celebrates Padma Bridge opening with billboards at 8 locations

Kolkata Municipal Corporation has put on big billboards depicting Padma Bridge at eight locations of the city to remind the people of the City of Joy about the engineering marvel achieved by Bangladesh.

The eight spots include near the iconic Victoria Memorial and Elgin Road. 

The Bangladesh Deputy High Commission wanted the billboards to be installed at four spots but Kolkata Municipal Corporation put them up at double that number of places, reports our New Delhi Correspondent.

Bangladesh Deputy High Commission thanked West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Kolkata Mayor Firhad Hakim for the gesture.
